True to the motto, "transcending borders with tradition", the educational programme of the university aims at inter- and transdisciplinary practices, as well as going beyond faculty and institute borders. Germany's second oldest university has more than 28,000 students, 4,500 employees and 150,000 alumni. It includes state-of-the-art facilities such as the university library, the computer centre and the centre for university sports.
