In her Flora Metaphorica studio, Tina Altus creates imaginative and unique works of art – from real flowers. The artist gathers flowers of all shapes and colours in her garden refuge in Markkleeberg near Leipzig and separates them into their single parts before pressing and drying them. A special method ensures that the naturally rich colour of each bloom is preserved. Tina Altus then creates floral works of art representing imaginative formations or landscapes showing people and animals. The works of art are usually made to order. Each picture is a unique original as each blossom is also unique.
The floral pictures are especially popular with bridal couples who like to have their bridal bouquet transformed into a unique work of art. The process is protected as a registered utility model. It is also possible to have floral artworks produced as exceptional wall tiles. Each year, Tina Altus holds a garden open day and her 'Party aux fleurs' takes place three times a year. Guests are invited to stroll through her garden, learn about her working methods and see the results. In her studio shop, she always has works of art and a variety of luxury gifts available for sale. Visits to the studio, its current exhibits and the garden are possible at any time by inquiring in advance.
